Dashcam captures horror truck rollover on Melbourne freeway

Dashcam footage has captured the horror moment when a truck rolled over on a major Melbourne freeway.

The B-Double truck carrying wool was travelling along the M80 Ring Road in Tullamarine when it clipped a car and rolled at Airport Drive just before 7am.

The driver of the car, a man in his 30s, was taken to the Royal Melbourne Hospital in a stable condition with upper body injuries.

The truck driver was uninjured and stopped to assist at the scene.

"Police are investigating whether the truck was cut off prior to the collision," a Victoria Police statement read.

The rollover caused all Altona-bound lanes to close, triggering lengthy traffic delays.

The Department of Transport this afternoon confirmed all lanes on the M80 Ring Road had reopened in both directions.

"Delays on the freeway are easing rapidly," a statement read.

"The Department of Transport thanks motorists for their patience as crews worked to clear the incident and safely re-open lanes."

Anyone who witnessed it or has dashcam footage is asked to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
