Northern Territory to be freed from lockdown after no new cases

The entire Northern Territory is soon to be free from lockdown, with Katherine's stay-at-home orders set to lift at midday (ACST).

However, some restrictions will remain in place across the territory.

Katherine's lockdown will be lifted at 12pm today after the NT recorded no new cases of COVID-19 overnight.

The NT town of Katherine is in lockdown.

The move comes after Darwin, 300km further north, was released from lockdown at 12pm yesterday.

Katherine was kept under stay-at-home orders for an extra 24 hours.

The lockdowns were sparked by a man who tested positive after leaving quarantine, but no more cases were found.
