Two people have died after a car exploded in Melbourne's inner-north this morning.
The car was engulfed in flames and destroyed when emergency services arrived outside the Royal Melbourne Hospital in Parkville about 10am.
Police believe the car was travelling south along Flemington Road near Grattan Street when it struck the curb, crashing into a pole about 9.50am.

"At this stage it is believed two people, the driver and a passenger, are deceased," Victoria Police said in a statement.
"It is not believed the incident is CT related or that there is any ongoing threat to the community."
Firefighters remain at the scene assisting police on Flemington Road and Grattan Street.
Traffic is closed on Flemington Road in both directions.
The exact circumstances of the crash are under investigation.
