Police investigate theft of copper valued at about $10,000

Victoria Police are investigating the alleged theft of copper valued at about $10,000 in the Melbourne suburb of Truganina last month.

Investigators said they were told a man damaged a security camera before stealing copper from a property in Apex Drive on Sunday, November 14 just before 6pm.

Officers have released CCTV of a man they believe may be able to assist with their enquiries.

"The man is perceived to be Caucasian in appearance with a solid build," police said.

"He was wearing a black hooded jumper, black tracksuit pants, and black gumboots.

"He was also brandishing a long black metal stake."
