Two women killed in horror head-on crash in Victoria

Two women have been killed in a horror head-on crash in Victoria's west this morning which also left three others, including a toddler, with serious injuries.

Emergency services were called to the Western Highway, Laharum which is 300km north-west of Melbourne, about 10.15am where two cars had collided near Dadswells Bridge-Wonwondah Road.

A woman died prior to emergency services arriving.

A woman from the other car was treated by paramedics but could not be saved.

A little girl, a man in his 30s, and a man in his 60s all sustained serious but non-life-threatening injuries and were airlifted to hospital.

Major Collision Investigation Unit detectives are inspecting the scene to determine the cause of the crash.

The Western Highway is expected to be closed for some time while the scene is examined.
